Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Updated October 18, 2026

On-device journal

Lean Theory is a workout, meal and body-photo journal. No account is required. There are no ads, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. The app does not upload photos, workout records, meal records or usage data to the developer.

What is stored

Your workout status, optional type/duration/notes, meal photos and notes, body photos and dates, and legacy angle/weight/waist entries remain in the app's private local folder. Images are compressed without original EXIF location metadata.

Permissions

Camera permission is requested when you choose to take a photo. You can decline and use the system photo picker, which only supplies selected images. Exporting to Photos may request add-only permission. Weekly reminders are optional local notifications.

Sharing, backup and deletion

Only photos you actively export or share are passed to the destination you choose. There is no cloud sync or complete archive export, and the record folder is excluded from system backups. Uninstalling the app or losing your device may permanently erase records. Export body photos you want to keep first. Workouts can be undone and body photos deleted from their detail pages. Delete the app to remove all local data. Individual meal deletion is not yet supported. Exported copies must be deleted separately at their destinations.

Website and support

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses and browser request information to deliver and secure the pages. No analytics or advertising scripts are included. The app does not send your records to this website. If you email support, the information you choose to send is used to respond. Please avoid sending unnecessary private information such as body photos.

Updates

We will update this policy and in-app notices if future versions add networking or sync.
